Portland : Maine

So today I asked myself, "Am I still considered a Newly Wed?" I sure hope so :) My husband and I just celebrated our very first wedding anniversary yesterday! Yea! How crazy this last year has been for us too! Life has been so busy, and I wonder where all of it has gone at times. To celebrate, (and of course sneak away from the DNC this last week) we headed to Portland, Maine! What a beautiful state to see. Neither of us had been to the East Coast, so we thought, what the heck. The trip started off a bit rocky though, note to self... never rent a condo online! Funny how involved in pictures I am, yet didn't think twice when I saw some "cute" pics of a condo. Yikes is all I can say about the condition of that place! But a few frustrated tears later, like 20 phone calls to hotels, I was snuggled up to my hunny in a brand new Hilton... :)


Let the fun begin! We had such a wonderful time, and I even had my share of fresh Maine lobster (can we say yummy!) ate my first crab cake, (I know, right, who hasn't had a crab cake?!) took a ferry, rode bikes, and even built a rock castle *apparently Maine doesn't have sandy beaches as much as I thought, so when you don't have sand to build your castle, one must use rocks!


Needless to say, it was a great time to reconnect, spend some snuggle time, and finally take a week to relax. Here are a few of our favorite pictures. Enjoy
